The Last of 2014

Beijing’s a little ahead, so it’s already December 31st. I can’t believe this is the last of 2014. What are your plans? I’ll be celebrating it with some of my favorite people in Beijing tonight. Right now, I’m working on compiling a recap post… the last time I made one was back in 2011. Kind of funny how my aspirations and dreams haven’t changed since then. Am I still the same overly-ideallistic kid living in a world furnished by Tumblr? Whatever. Keep dreaming.

Beijing Design Week is underway and we’re nestled in our hutong space with a lot of green plants, cacti and postcards. Grandma’s legit vintage shirt seemed like an appropriate uniform of choice the other day. I’m on the way to becoming a true Beijinger! Maybe not – I still hate queues and crowds. We’re collaborating with Yetang.com and stocking some of their monochrome pieces so come haaaang. If you use ‘KNEON’ at checkout you can get 30RMB off!

Days in NYC just walking around and finding oddities in fast food chain interiors and discussing the status of the city as ‘the place to be’ and chasing after natural light filters. With a bag of outfits and #goodvibez Aimee and I had a long adventurous day where we walked across Brooklyn Bridge and ended up in the west end at a granny’s living room blasting hip hop music. Friends met over the internet can become life-long. We’ve already planned our sassy retirement together in the cafes of Paris.

I’ve been settling in! In New York! I’m loving this city. It reminds me a lot of Beijing: the subway is jungle of unexplored adventures, the streets are dominated by people strutting off determinedly towards their goal (even if it is their second brunch of the day), and no one really gives a shit what others think of them. It’s Grand Sass-Central Station up in here.
