Fall twenty-ten

I haven’t done any runway collection features in ages so I thought I’d start doing some more. These are some looks from the Ready-to-wear fall 2010 collections that really caught my eye:

1. Peter Jensen The combination of knitwear and cardigans, bright and monotone colors, and – oh dearie lordie – super uber mini skirts made me fall head over heels in love with this collection. Everything is so japanese schoolgirl meets Alexa Chung.

2. Cynthia Steffe Overknee socks, elegant color palette, great styling (I love the sleek hair)…this collection is amazing. When I saw these pieces I imagined a half French and Japanese school girl, riding a motorcycle to her university, where she studies art history. There’s nothing too provocative going on, but there’s this natural beauty that shines through.

3. Rebecca Taylor The color scheme is quite similar to that of Cynthia Steffe, but the overall look very different. Great silhouettes and textures; I love how all the lengths at the bottom are the same. It’s a safe collection, but extremely lovely. I also really like the simple and elegant styling.
